Our Payson volunteer committee is making good progress and the plans for the FLW tournament are coming together. We can finally announce that the Mazatzal Hotel and Casino will host a dinner for all FLW EverStart anglers. The dinner will be on Tuesday, Feb. 15th and will be a buffet style. It will be held in the same room as the past pre-tournament meetings held at the casino. Doors will open at 6:30 PM, the cost will be only $5 per person. A casino representative will be collecting money at the door. Each angler will be given a raffle ticket as he/she enters which will be good for drawings we will do after dinner. Also, each angler will get a stamp on his hand which will allow re-entrance back into the room, in case anyone needs to leave for any reason. The dinner will go approximately from 6:30-8:00 PM and anglers can return to the buffet as much as they like. At 8:00 or maybe a little earlier, depending on how things go. Ron Lappin, the tournament director will take the stage to introduce our guest speakers. Mike Folkestad and John Murray have agreed to give light hearted and funny talks about some of their fishing experiences. We’re excited that these two professional anglers are willing to stand up in front of all of you to share some stories and experiences they have gained over the years. They won’t be sharing any secrets or fishing techniques related to the tournament (so forget about that), but its sure to be a lot of fun, laugher and reminiscing. Ron will draw a winning raffle ticket every 5 minutes or so during this portion of the dinner. Raffle prizes will include gift cards, free dinners and several other prizes that we need to get approval on before we disclose them. These prizes are being donated by gracious businesses in Payson and Tonto Basin. We hope everyone fishing the FLW EverStart will attend this dinner and we’re looking forward to a great evening of food, fishing stories, and prizes.

Final date to register for the tournament is January 26th so be sure to call the FLW and get your deposit paid. Also, there is still time to enter the 2nd Annual No Slot Tournament on Feb. 5th. Winners of this tournament will have their entry fee paid in full! Call John Sneed for the No Slot Tournament details at 928-581-6299. PM if there is anything our Payson volunteer committee can do to help.
