Although “gut hooking” is nearly always associated with live bait fishing, occasionally, even experienced plastic worm fishermen will catch a bass that has swallowed the bait and been hooked in its gullet. The current issue of In-Fisherman magazine has a well illustrated and well written article on how to easily remove the hook from the fish’s gullet without causing a great deal of damage.
