Well, the points race is hot. All of our serious amateurs are in contention. Somebody could miss a tournament and be out of it though. Just a few points seperate the leaders.

On the pro side Dave and I are just 2 points apart after a throw out. Neither of us dares to miss a tournament or its all over.

For those wanting to fish as an amateur. We have had 1-3 open back seats in 4 out of the 5 tournaments we have held so far this year. This month could be interesting. The bite is good. The bags are big, and I have had feedback from several guys who say they plan to start fishing Yuma Pro Am as a "pro". That could mean a lot of open back seats for amateurs who want to fish. Its cheap so its a great opportunbity to get out on the water and see if tournament fishing is for you.

For all the details check out the Yuma Pro Am website.

If you can not make it to the sign up on Friday the 16th (our next sign up) you can call me at that time and ask me to put your name down. Our next tournament is the 18th of June, and the sign up time is 5:15 to 6:15 on Friday the 16th at Sportsmen's Hide-A-Way. My cell phone number is (928)580-1270. If you don't get through leave a message or call back I will have it on all afternoon.

In order to maximize fishing opportunities you can sign up as:

Pro - Has working bass boat and is willing to fish as the pro for a day with an amateur partner.
(Accumulates pro points for season)

Pro w/ Broke boat - Has broke bass boat that should be fixed by the next tournament, and understands that they are subject to the luck of the draw about getting to fish or not that tournament. Basically is fishing as pro, but has to fish as amateur for one tournament because of boat troubles.
(Accumulates pro points for season - even though fishing as amateur for one tournament)

Amateur - Does not have a bass boat and wants to fish. Subject to the luck fo the draw whether they get to fish or not.
(Accumulates amateru race points)

Amateur w/ Boat - Would prefer to fish as an amateur, but has a boat and will be willing to fish that tournament as a pro if there aren't enough pros so that everybody gets to fish.
(Accumulates amateur race points - even though fishing as pro for that tournament)

this series is a great opportunity to get out and go fishing, fish with new partners, and have fun.
