I know that this is AZBASSZONE but doesn't anyone talk about crappie anymore? Don't get me wrong...we cast for LM primarily but when we go out at night it is for crappie.

We usually try to get to Rosy at least every other weekend for a night of crappie fishing....still the best eating fish at least in AZ.......I just don't see many reports on them.
I have a buddy who has two slips at Rosy and they have been catching some of the biggest slabs (0430 to 0600 in the morning) they have seen in years off of their slips...We saw the same thing two weeks ago in Salome at night.
Just like to see more reports on them. Up until two to three weeks ago no one was really catching much, which I believe turned people off on them.

About a month ago we fished around the Rosy marina for a night. Tried to fish acouple of slips that night but we kept getting chased off. Not even a bite. Did pretty good early this year up there. need to get back up there before the monsoons come. Fished alittle at bartlett 2 weekends ago. not much luck that trip, had the wife with me.
Would like to see more post on crappie fishing my self.

AZ "Bass" Zone has been the main resource in starting "Crappiethon" and the Arizona Crappie Association. In two short years (and almost no money) we have had 2 very successful "Crappiethon" fishing tournaments and now have a 25 member club (AZCA). It has taking some work by a few of us to do these things but without the Zone, none of it would have ever happened. I would encourage you to check out the Crappie Fishing fomun on this site and concider joining our club.
And again, thank you to Delw and all the Zoners.

Probably would think of joining...I was interested in the beginning...but have trouble committing to the meetings and such...never know when or where my job is going to take me.

oldman, don't sweat the meetings. I travel over 100K miles per year myself. If you miss a meeting, you can come on here, read and acknowledge the minutes, and you are done. We'd love to have more crappie fanatics on the team.

I am hybernating!!!! bartlett has been real good during the day for crappie but with 110 degrees I loose all urges to venture out even in the early morning, going to switch to night fishing at bartlett this next week along with night striper fishng at lake Unpleasant. Was up at rosy yesterday "not fishing" man that lake is dropping quick, looks like indian point is just about out of water and the beach area at horsepasture is like twice the size it was just a month ago??
