Went to my first G & F Round Table Meeting last night. The Main topics of the evening were, Golden Alga and the efforts going into restoration and restocking. Educating people so they don’t transplant the Quagga Mussels from one body of water to another. I’ll bring all the flyers to the next meeting that was handed out if anyone would like to check’em out.
G & F is doing an intense creel observation at three lower Salt River lakes for the next couple of years, for stocking purposes. In their observations so far this year they have found 2 Crappie have been caught at Saguaro Lake. That’s cool :icon_attnwhore:
Just a reminder that G & F will be asking us to volunteer our time to help with the habitat project at Canon Lake this winter.
Bruce, Jim W. asked where you were. I told him you were duck hunting

Hey Bill
I asked president Eveland for a gasoline voucher $$ to attend the meeting and he denied it!!!! actually Bill driving from north Phx to east Mesa in rush hour traffic would of had me in "postal" mood when I got there. The only reason I think Jim W. wanted me there so he could either throw a heavy object at me or punch me for stirring the striper slaughter problem at lake pleasant?? I bet he spent a lot a time on the phone yesterday??
Did anyone bring up the stripers at lake pleasant??
We did the volunteer deal at apache last year, it was fun, look forward to helping at canyon this year.

Bruce,
A stripper issue was brought up. But what the topic is I’m not sure. They were going to have a 20-30 minute presentation on the issue but we ran out of time. It will be done at the next meeting.

This was the first time I attended one of these meetings and really enjoyed the presentations. Off to the side I did ask for a yearly graph of the past 4 years showing the water temp's, solar positons in respects to when the fish kills were being seen. Understanding that we have now had fish kills recorded as early in the year as Feb was really informative (Mostly Shad kills were seen). I think looking at a 4 year overlay of temps and fish kills would be interesting.
The only question I still have is with all those supervisors, managers, directors from AZGF in this meeting no wonder the part time guy out at the lake is writing tickets for not having the permit displayed correctly. He might be the only non-manager in the group doing all the work...and I thought Intel was bad.
