IT IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR YOU TO SIGN UP AND PAY AS EARLY IN THE WEEK AS YOU CAN.

If there are more AMs (non-boaters) than PROs (boaters) those who sign up and pay their entry first will be drawn for the available seats. Also, this gives us an opportunity to make some calls and make sure that there are enough boats for everybody to fish.

It is important for both Pros and Ams to sign up early.

WHAT IS YUMA PRO AM ?

Yuma Pro Am is a fishing tournament club that pairs anglers with boats and anglers without boats to fish together as a team against other teams. Pairing is by random drawing only. It is a great opportunity to fish with new people and learn new tactics on the Colorado River and Mittry Lake. It is a lot of fun, but each tournament is run a lot like a professional tournament, and some of the guys take it a little seriously. Be prepared to fish.

HOW DO I SIGN UP ???

Just go over to Sportsmen’s Hide-A-Way and sign up any time the week before one of our tournaments.

What if I am from out of town?

Contact: bob@yumaproam.com to make arrangements. We have lots of anglers from out of the area who come and fish Yuma Pro Am through out the year.

What Does it Cost ???

All that is required is:
$15 Membership (good for the calendar year)
$25 Tournament Entry
Pays out one place for each five
entries. Pro and Am pay outs are
separate. The 1st place out of the
money (not counting options) gets
a free basic entry at the next
scheduled tournament. (Next one
on the schedule only.)

Optional Side Pots:(Not Required)

$5 Big Bass of the Tournament
Paid out to the boat with the
biggest black bass weighed that is
in the option.
(May pay two places if more
than ten entries. There are
separate pots for pro and
ams. If one anglers is not in
the option then the big fish
for their category (pro or am)
goes to the next place
fish/angler in their category.

$5 8 pound rolling pot.
Pays out to the boat / team with the largest bass over 8
pounds weighed in. If no
bass over 8 pounds are
weighed in then the pot rolls
over to the next tournament.
(If one angler is not in the
option then the pot is split
and the other half rolls over)

$15 Top Three.
This is split evenly between the top
three finishers that are in the option. There are separate pots for
pros and ams.

FREE FISHING TACKLE
We give away fishing rods at every tournament, and all participants get a chance to win. We give away at least one rod, and if there are ten or more boats entered we give away two rods. We also often get free tackle, lures, and gift certificates from our sponsors through out the year to give-a-way.

2010 Season - TBA

I have had a lot of calls about the 2010 season. Many anglers from out of town are interested and plan to mail in their entries. Yuma Pro Am is not a common club format, and we have people from all over the western states interested in fishing with us.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU GET YOUR ENTRY FEES IN AND GET SIGNED UP AS EARLY IN THE WEEK BEFORE A TOURNAMENT AS POSSIBLE.

We had to leave somebody on the bank last year. Don’t let it be you.

If you plan to fish Yuma Pro Am I strongly suggest you read the following pages.

Each participant is responsible for knowing the rules and proper etiquette for Yuma Pro Am.

... AND don't put off getting started or signing up.

Getting started... The Season Kick Off BBQ is January 30th at Sportsmen's Hide-A-Way. There is a steak BBQ, prizes, speakers, etc. It is only once a year the evening before our first tournament of the season and its only open to people who have paid their membership for 2009 or 2010. (or pay at the BBQ)

Signing Up... I STRONGLY reccomend that people interested in fishing as a non-boater sign up on the Monday when signup opens up. I have had a lot of interest in Yuma Pro Am for 2010 and I have even had a number of folks calling from other states. I guess Yuma Pro Am is a somewhat unique format in the western states. A couple folks have said they may express or overnight their entries from out of town.

Available backseats... is strictly first come first serve. Those who are signed up and their entry is paid FIRST will get drawn if their are more non-boaters than boaters. You may sign up and pay Monday thru Saturday the week before each tournament.

Mailing Entries... Entries may be mailed or sent by carrier, but they may not be postmarked or have a ship date prior to Monday. If mailing in an entry mail it on Monday. It should arrive by Wednesday or Thursday. If you mail it later than Monday I may not get it in time to get you signed up. Your entry will be considered paid when it is received. If any are postmarked prior to Monday they will be considered received on Saturday or when they arrive whichever is later.

Any non-boater (am) who does not draw a boater (pro) will have their entry returned.

What time is the BBQ? Tournament?

http://www.yumaproam.com/BBQ - 2009 AWARDS & 2010 SEASON KICKOFF
The awards BBQ and season kick off celebration for Yuma Pro Am will be January 30th 2010. Our first tournament of the season is January 31st 2010.... ... itinerary follows. Or you could look at the first post of this thread.

I never give a specific tournament start time. However if you look at the top of http://www.yumaproam.com/ you will see Launch Time is 30
Minutes Before Sunrise right above the surise and sunset time stamp. Its usually a good idea to be there 45 minutes to an hour before sunrise to be safe.

Send me your e-mail address and I will add it to the mailing list.

Noting that you are a single poster I want to point out if your purpose for wanting to get on the list is to harvest the addresses of the members that will not be possible as I use an e-mail list application on my server rather than sending Cc: to everybody.

Also, only moderators may send messages out to the members on the list.

Yes, it is possible to receive the Yuma Pro Am newsletter via e-mail.
