The crap are for insect control along with the trout. The city of tempe has to do the stocking of warm water fish such as bass and catfish. I spoke to the game and fish guy during the trout stocking and asked the question Why Not Bass and Catfish. He said it was a fed thing that the National wildlife services has control. But since Tempe owns the lake they can stock it with the warm water fish such as Bass and Catfish. Secondly the lake has bass and sunfish and catfish as i caught all 3 of them since it was refilled.

Tempe town lake water can give you a rash, that water still needs to be treated by the city of Tempe.
