Fished Anthem from 6:30 till dark with my daughter. We caught a couple decent bass on a DS as well as two more using a small crank bait. All but one fish were over a pound. We were using an ultra light trout setup so they were lots of fun for my 6 yr old.

I was out there in the morning... Guess our timing was off.

How did you do? I had six decent ones about 15 inches each, only one dink on the day. Oddly enough I got about 10 redear sunfish on crank baits and spinners while I was looking for bass in my usual spot. Never had that happen before, I guess when the bass are away the baitfish come out to play.

I found my new go-to creature bait for t-rigging that lake, but I can't post what it is until after our derby coming up

We fish at the community center. Just east of the 17. They have 5 small lakes that produce decent bass and large catfish. I took all 3 of my kids this evening and we landed a few LMB that were 12-14 inches.

FYI, single barbless hooks at anthem. Saw a guy get a ticket there throwing a trout swimbait. They don't put trout in there anyway..but it was pretty obvious in those little ponds hucking that thing. I doubt they'd give u any trouble for dropshot if u didn't pinch the barbs, but crank baits could be risky. I wish there were more urban urban ponds that were c&r..I couldn't care less how many hooks, but just passing the word as i recently saw the rule enforced

Thank you for the heads up. I knew it was C & R with barbless hooks, but I didn't know it was singles only. I have several lures with the barbs pinched just for this lake.

FYI - Here is a link to their website. I don't see anything about single hooks.

We caught three. One Dink and 2 good ones. about a 2.5 lber and a 2 lber.
I caught the dink. All three were on crankbait - white with red eyes.

The boy was stoked!

Thank you for teaching him how to hold the fish the right way!!! Way too many people (on this site included) hold them horizontally one handed cause they think it looks cool or some crap. (It's funny, the same people on here that give others crap for taking home bass are the ones sending them back into the lake with dislocated jaws so they can't eat and die anyway...)

Yeah, little dinks usually do just fine, not enough weight behind 'em
