We are getting ready to finally repair the boat ramp at Pena Blanca Lake. The current plan is to start on Oct 24th We plan to cave in the part of the ramp that is udercut and backfill that opening with rip-rap and dirt and then lay gravel over that. It won't be perfect but it should be useable and much cheaper than a full repair. I'm told repairs should take about 1 week.
On another note about Pena Blanca, the Forest Service is entering the final planning stages of the dredging project and the funding is in place. Look for the lake to be closed to public access in September of 2008. As part of that project, AZGFD will be working to move the boat ramp at the lake to a different location so that we can alleviate the problem of it getting flooded and washed out constantly. As always, if you have questions let me know!
