San Carlos Friday September 25th
It wasn't a guide trip, just a day off with one of our favorite customers. If you like San Carlos now is the time to get out there for sure. We didn't catch huge numbers 20 - 25 fish, but all but 3 or 4 were solid three and four pounders. Big fish was around six with a couple of fives mixed in the bunch. We caught fish on just about everything we tried except top water. We threw a buzz bait and a Rio Rico to no avail. Cranks, Jigs, Swimbaits, T rig Beavers, and Blades were all working with the biggest fish caught on a Jig. Visibility is about 8 inches and all of our fish were caught between 6 inches and 15 feet, with most bites right on the bank.

Here are some of the baits we used.

Cranks: Lucky Craft Flat CB DR - Caramel Apple and Chartreuse Rootbeer.
Jigs: Dirty Jigs Skirted Football Jigs - Olive Blue and Olive Orange 1/2 ounce.
Jig Trailers: Net Bait Baby Paca Craw - Alabama Craw and Reaction Innovations Sweet Beavers - Okeechobee Craw
Spinnerbaits: Lucky Craft Redemption Double Willow - Aurora Black 1/2 ounce.
Swimbaits: Top Shelf Swimbaits - Electric Bluegill 4 inch.
Texas Rig: Reaction Innovations Sweet Beavers - Infection, and Okeechobee Craw.

I hope this helps and if anybody has any questions give us a call.

Great report, sounds like fun! Been doing some damage there myself. The lake is dead at 4% as most think. Let them think that.

Did you use a bead, or a rattle on your beavers? I have found the northland tandem buckshot rattles to be very effective, either above the hook on the line, or on the shank of the hook. Tha sound draws em in, the scent [ hopefully u use one] gets thier attention along w/ movement & water displacement. They eat it. Especially in dirty water. In clearer, I dont rattle.

That swim bait looks promising. Gotta pick some of those up
