I can't give you a scientific answer but I do know cost is a big part of the equation for G&F. The Northern strain LM they stocked several years ago through the help of UAAF are cost effective, do well in these waters, and have a low mortality rate from seller to lake.
This year has been a huge turn-around, it seems, in terms of numbers of large fish being caught again. The lakes have returned to (or close to getting to be) what they once were. |

I am pretty sure I've caught spotted bass in Yuma. Not sure if they are hybrids or not.
