11 quakes in the last six hours now. 3 have been over 3 on the Richter scale. These quakes are less then 10 km down. Those shallow quakes are dangerous after 5 on the Richter scale. The biggest was a 4.8 and that screwed up freeways.

They just put the closest city. It was in Cali near the Salton sea.
That area gets a lot of minor quakes. All of Cali does. Caliente, Nv on the other hand not until recently. If you hit the last nevada quake zoom in on the map and look just north east of the epicenter. You will see a large caldera. Caliente has a hotel that was built on a hot spring that they piped into 3 rooms. The water comes out at 118. I almost called them up to see if their water got hotter.

I looked at a few web sites just because I was curious about it. It looks like there are somewhere around 20 earthquakes per day somewhere on the planet. I had no idea there were that many.

Just like all the earthquakes in Oklahoma. The oil companies created a high 5 in Oklahoma. People felt it as far as Wisconsin. They won't be happy until they create a 7. Then the oil companies will blame MA nature.

Statistics say that a bunch of little earthquakes in the same area leads to a big quake. But statistics are not a sure thing. They had a small quake in Boulder City today. I am pretty sure that is another extinct volcano. But I also read that area gets a lot of small quakes when Mead is filling.

If that's the case, the whole west coast is littered with them in the past 10 days. Hang on for a real rocker then. Are you a Geologist or something?

No saw a special last night on the weather channel about man made earthquakes. Just repeating what I learned. I had time to kill before Texas Rising came on.

Well that is interesting. So you obviously don't think that cutting down the majority of the rain forest has no ecological effects on planet earth. Well the years of drought in the west and the floods in Texas would suggest otherwise. Phoenix having the wettest May on record would suggest other wise also.

I find it interesting that anytime there is a climate change or major weather event It must be "Man's" fault, some tree got cut down or oil drilling, or.......

Its always as though we just did something and now we are paying the price.

Back in 1978-1980, in AZ we had the 100 year flood followed by the 500 year flood, what caused that?

So what caused the drought known as the dirty 30's?

What caused the ice age?

Down through history there have been alot of extremes from heat to cold, wet to dry. There have been massive earthquakes and enormous volcanic eruptions.
I guess primal man was awfull damn busy ****ing up the earth long before the stone age, much less the modern age.
