Yuma Pro Am - Proposed Changes for 2013

Payout Table Change:

Currently: One place for every five boats.
Example: Nine boats pays one place. Eleven boats pays two places.

Proposed: One place for every five boats or portion thereof.
Example: Nine boats would pay two places. Eleven boats would pay three places.

Benefits: Easier to calculate. Not fishing for one place during slow months.

Elimination of first out of the money.
Explanation: First out of the money not counting options currently gets a free basic entry in the very next tournament. The goal was to promote continuous participation by those who got close, but didn't quite cash a check, and help increase overall participation. The real world result was that it mostly went to people who fish every tournament anyway, and often when it didn't it seemed to generate hard feelings with guys who could not fish the very next tournament. It did not do what it was intended to do. It is being eliminated.
