I have to share this experience. I have several poles in spinning and bait casters and try to keep up on the new and current baits and techniques. My brother who I fish with most of the time uses an (one) old heavy pole with an old open face reel. I keep telling him he should update to some newer gear but he always replies with, why should I, I still catch more fish than you with all the rods and gear you have. True!

The only time I use a swivel is when I am throwing a Carolina rig!!

I don’t use a swivel for drop shot, but I started this year using a #14 barrel swivel with the Zoom Trick Worm and Zoom SuperFluke/Strike King Caffeine Shad. With the double fluke rig I use two #12 barrel swivels. Both techniques worked well this year!
