Well that depends. Is it sitting out on the counter? Then quickly. Is it refrigerated? Then over time.

You and I are in agreement on that. I do that too. Been making beer for years, make my own sausage, almost everything from scratch when I have the time. I prefer the way the old timers did it. They knew what was up. Now you eat some of this stuff, and you've ingested 300 chemicals in a sitting.
