Its a cool wall hanger. I wouldnt use anything over a 2500 size for bass, but thats just me. I actually use more of the 1000's because i use light line (10lb braid or 5lb floro)

ok THX so... 2500 is max for bass give or take?

what the hell were they planning on using a ~4000 for?

Jaws?? Bonito? Dorado? Redfish or Tarpons?? idk but i bet the drag is amazing!!

No i think finesse techniques werent used back then so smaller reels werent needed. Now with so many people fishing the fish have become more picky. So sometimes you need to downsize and get those pressured bass to eat.
