Fishing Mags for the Troops

This isn't specifically about the backseat program, but along the same lines. When I was at Bagram, we had people that would get shipments of magazines to put in our morale building (using the term "building" loosely...), and people could take them and read them and put them back or whatever. Also, the Pat Tillman USO center there would get magazines as well for people to take.

There would always be news magazines that were old, of course some Maxim/FHM mags, and lots of guns & ammo mags. There were never any fishing magazines, so I'd have my girlfriend send them out.

I have a couple In-Fisherman and Bassmaster magazines I had planned on sending out to a buddy of mine who's hooked on AZ fishing (mentioned in the backseat thread), but was wondering if there was enough interest for me to hold off and collect a bunch of them.

So if you have fishing magazines lying around (even old ones), maybe we can set up a place that you could bring them (like an upcoming tourney or something), and I can send them out to him to distribute. I can't say what units or how many are out there, but there's plenty of AZ-based people out there right now. And of course we'll get them to take pictures to post here as a thanks to the Zoners.

So are you guys willing to part with some of your magazines?

If you live in/near the West Valley, you can drop magazines off at Del's/April's shop. We'll try to figure out a solid date we want to send them off by.

I'll handle Tucson, so if you're in Tucson and have magazines to donate, just let me know and I'll set up a time to come by and pick them up from you or meet you somewhere.

if you have any questions, contact me. Del and April are just collecting the magazines for their area, not running it, so don't bombard them with PMs

Best way to shipping is the flat rate boxes. Nummie sent me one with about 35 magazines for 10.50.

Curt, did you receive that mag that you begged for......I think it was "Gay Truckers Quarterly", or it might have been "Lumberjacks United", or something like that. They were in plastic wrap, and I would have no need to look inside anyway
