Updated Smartphone Feedback Thread

We're pleased to announce that we have launched a new smartphone view on the site, in addition to the recently added mobile view in the last upgrade. This version has been designed to have a cleaner look, to fit really nicely into mobile (iPhone, Android) browsers, and unlike most normal web based skins will also include features that are normally reserved for desktop or phone applications. We built this as we realize you all spend more time today on your phones on the forum than you did 2 years ago, and we want to get the mobile view to a place where you can do everything (and more!) that you can do on desktop.

A few notes as I know many of you may have questions:

* This does not replace the free or paid in-apps that you have, such as any mobile apps. This is web-only.
* This new skin will only show when you access the site from a modern (Android 4+, iPhone) phone. It will not show for older phones or for tablets, blackberries or windows phones.
* Please give us some time as we work through bugs. Give it a try, give us feedback in our mobile thread url, and give it a chance. Every change needs time to get used to!

If you visit the site from your mobile phone, you'll get the new view automatically. You can login, post, reply, upload photos, view your private messages and more. You can also use the legacy mobile view by choosing the top left menu and Exit Enhanced Mobile Mode.

The feedback thread for any bugs, etc, please post below.

**Please let use know the device, software version, and browser being used if reporting any issues.

If you prefer the original desktop view you can look to the top of the screen for a box with three white lines. This will pull up a drop down to show you a list of functions that include the desktop view of the site on your mobile device.

Can you tell me as well what phone and browser you are using?

Ads are really invasive on new mobile platform. Font face is too large. Using a droid running chrome.

Thanks for the tip to get back to the desk top version, didnt care for the mobile version, seemed to take longer and harder to navigate, also droid/ chrome.

No trouble! I wanted to make sure those that might not get along with it know its not the only option to view the site. If you clear the cache on your browser you will need to opt out again, it uses a cookie to remember the view you picked.

Doesn't work on my phone...although I'm not really happy with my phone anyway. (HTC Rezound). Just sits there and flashes loading and never loads anything, so I don't even have the option to go back to the old desktop version...bummer.

Do you know what version of operating system your phone is running? I will report this.

Dude I agree, I hated the new look...It was hard to navigate, slow to post, couldn't find shit, etc...Plus I couldn't enlarge the screen by zooming...I had no problems with the old look...I went back to the old desk top forum view...I have Droid Maxx with Chrome...

Shittiest I have ever seen. I went to the old desktop style. To many advertisements too.

Forgive me if I have this wrong, looks like to me it's the Android version 4.0 Ice cream sandwich? When I look under software settings it says Android version 4.0.3

My Droid Maxx is running Android version 4.4.4...It doesn't matter which OS system you use, the new mobile version just plain sucks
