Fished sunrise until 3pm couple of 1.5-2lb LM about 7am using Gulp minnow drop shot. Then tried to do a little trolling with no luck. then dropped a anchovies about 40ft down picked up a 2lb striper right off the bat, then re baited got a hit and then nothing for the next 3 hours. The crazy part was I fished about 9hrs that whole time I never graphed one school of fish the entire time on the water. No bait fish no game fish nothing. Every now and then I would get a single fish or so. Never in my life have I ever experienced that. I have always found fish on my electronics, maybe not catch them, but see them at least. I even seen bait-fish popping the surface but nothing on my graph just weird very weird. water was crystal clear.

Early morning before the sun hits the water directly, watch for the boils (little shad hitting the surface, swimming for their lives) ("I even seen bait-fish popping the surface").

Have a Spook, a clear Zara puppy (my favorite on that lake that I hate), Vixen, Gunfish, or any "walking the dog" type bait tied on with a feather treble.

You will hook into some decent fish.

Make sure it's on a set up, that you can cast a country mile. Work it fast through the boil like a fleeing bait fish on the surface, and boom!

In the river or in the mouth of the Northern coves, just make sure you are there before the sun is up and work it before the sun gets up high. It's short lived, but fun.

When the water is clear, the fish retreat into the depths at first light. Its either night fishing or go realll deep.

Thanks for the report jhedge, and very nice response rookie.
I am thinking about going out Sat or Sun night. Sun looks better wind wise.
