Toys for Tots - December Tournament

Yuma Pro Am News -
This Month:

December is the one tournament every year where you do not need to pay membership dues to fish (still have to pay your entry fee though), although you can go ahead and pay your dues for 2013 if you want. We are on the river yet again this month launching out of Fisher's landing.

Safe light will probably be called just after 7:00. so if you are in the water READY TO GO by 6:30-6:45 you should be good. Weigh-in will be 3:00PM. On time means between the points in the main marina rods down on deck motoring towards the weigh shack or at the dock before 3:00.

BRING TOYS. Please members. You are all more unfortunate than others. Please be generous to those children who may otherwise have a bleak Christmas. We do a toy donation drive at our December tournament every year, and to encourage our members to participate we have a free raffle for those members (and non-members) who participate. For every Toy donated we give away a raffle ticket for a chance to win upto five (5) fishing rods depending on the number of toys donated.

People often ask what age range, or how much their toys should cost. Children of all ages find themselves in homes that won't have much of a Christmas from time to time. Often we feel for the little ones, but older kids need something to look forward to as well. How much should they cost. Well honestly. Anything you can afford or of any value you feel like will be appreciated by somebody. For our purposes I would like to request that you donate toys with an individual value of $10 or more. They need to be new and uwrapped. When the tournament is over retired marine Manuel Garcia will take the toys over to the marine base to be distributed by Toys for Tots.

Last Month:

Ed Reeder and Allan Hook took the day, but bags were small. It only took 9.37 pounds to win. Frank Whitmore and Matt Yates brought in the big bass of 3.47 pounds. 2nd place went to Mac McDermott and Tim Jennings, with Alvin Hatton and Chadler Sylvester finishing third.

Please remember to thank all our sponsors. The best way to do that is to do business with them.
