Kayak fishing Wednesday!

I'll be heading out Wednesday morning to Patagonia. Weather report says it should be in the mid 70's with little wind so I'll have to take advantage of this weather while it's here!

The bite always seems to be tough for me when I go here though. I always catch little to no fish. What would you guys suggest trying out?

Anyone is welcome to join me, or if you see an ugly grey kayak with a skinny white kid in it come say hi!

You're a fishing machine. Can't make Wednesday - hoping for the weekend after Thanksgiving.

I'm out. Family needs come first (dammit...)

Go get some Yum money minnows or other trout colored swimbaits and throw those along the edges of the tulies. Last fall we were getting a lot of really big girls following the bait but not taking 'em. That was a ton of fun!

No worries Kenny! I'm one step ahead of you with the money minnows, I just hope the lake actually got some trout and that I wasn't missinformed.

I might have a few more days off than I expected this week, so I might make an extra trip out to Arivaca over the weekend.

Does anyone know if the water has gone up at all with the recent rain we've been getting? Vaca has been strugeling it seems, but the fishing hasn't really seemed to stop.

I was talking with someone at Sportsman's about going to patty and he said "God bless and good luck" telling me it's been rough there lately.

I was out there on 11/11/11 from 9 am till bout 3 pm.walked the bank and hooked 16 on drop-shot and sencos. All were 3 to 4 pounds. Lake is still low, it would be difficult to get a small boat in there but it can be done.

I beleive you on the size. Last time we were there we pulled out a couple 3.5 pounders, a 4 and kenny caught a 7 pounder. Each were weighed with my rapala scale which I tested on a few weights before and ater the trip because I didn't think it was right, but it was spot on with my weights.

Maybe I'll hit Vaca, that lake seems to always produce worth while fish when I go there.

As for launching, if small boats are having a problem that is GREAT! lol Less traffic on the water

I plan on getting out there again in the next couple of weeks, we are gonna take a tinny and see if we can get on the bigger fish out by the dam. Patty has been tuff lately but it sure is fun when it's on.

I've only caught small 1-2 lbers out by the damn. Let me know when you take the tinny, maybe I can bring my kayak out too and show you where we caught the big ones

Last time we went wacky rigged senkos seemed to be the ticket.
