I know that Southern California is a distance for some of you but I thought that maybe a few of you might be interested in this very special event that we are part of. This will be the second year for this event, the first one being quite successful and very fulfilling on a personally level to all that participated in it. Last year we limited it to a 50 boat field with 100 “wounded warriors”. Last year there were 50 “wounded warriors” that were left on the waiting list since we only had room for 100. This year we are increasing the boat field to 60 and the “warrior’s” to 120.
Vail Lake is a private lake that is opening up to the public for this very special event.
This is a copy of a letter that we have sent out to several people in radio, newspaper and television along with many of the sponsors that once again want to be part of this event.

The Lake Elsinore Bass Club is putting on an awesome tournament at Vail Lake on May 30, 2009 for the “wounded warriors”. This “tournament” is sponsored by FLW/TBF Federation. You must be a member of FLW to participate in this event due to the insurance. (To become a member in FLW the cost is $25. You can register on line.) .. This is very heart-warming, one that you would not want to miss.
This event is strictly to offer a great time to our service men/women that have been injured during service. There are going to be giveaways to all of the servicemen/women and some left over for the “angler”. The way that this event runs is that we need guys/gals with boats that are willing to take a “wounded warrior” out on Vail Lake (no cost to the person with the boat) and let them (up to two service persons on your boat) fish a full day (until around 2 p.m. or so) at Vail Lake. There will be “valet” launching/parking (done by the Lake Elsinore Bass Club) and a delicious barbecue at the end of the event (around 2 p.m.) There is going to be a huge raffle during the awards ceremony that all can participate in.
Below are just some of the companies that helped out with this charity event LAST YEAR:

If your company would like to donate something or give money for a donation that will be awarded directly to the WOUNDED WARRIOR FOUNDATION at the award ceremony, please contact Mike Nemec at 951-775-0928 or e-mail him at michaeljnemec@yahoo.com. Last year there was not a dry eye at the award ceremony. Truly this is one of our favorite events of the year.
Entry forms are available at the following locations: www.nationalbasswest.com , Anglers Marine, (both Anaheim and San Diego stores) and Last Chance Bait and Tackle in Hemet. This tournament is limited to the first 60 boats to sign up. Last year all but one boat caught at least 50-60 fish during the day. It was a blast for all. This year they are planning on making this event bigger and better than last year.
We are hopeful that a few of you might find it in your heart to either help out at the event or with sponsorship. This event was aired on the Outdoor Channel many times this season and will be featured once again after this event. The raffle money that we collect goes directly back to the WOUNDED WARRIROR FOUNDATION. This event is all about them.
National Bass West is going to add a page on our website www.nationalbasswest.com updating everyone on the progress of sponsorship and activities that are going to take place. Final details are still being worked out on some very exciting activies. We want this day to be one that the “wounded warriors” have nothing but fun, nothing but laughter and nothing but a great day that they can look back on a have a smile on their face.
Best wishes to you
