Lake Oviachic

I have not seen any recent reports on Lake Oviachic in Sonora Mx. Was wondering if anyone has been there in March. and has any info on the lake level and condition of the boat ramp, fishing etc.
Also I called Angel's cell and his wife answered. Angel has been in the hospital for the last few days. Not sure of his ailment.
Hope he gets well
Thanks
Mike H

Mike i was there March 12th fished 3 days. Yes Angel in hospital been there for awhile some heart issue is the word as of now. Water has been dropping almost everyday. Last i heard it is getting a little muddy launching so 4x4 of course helps. While we were there weather was changing so day one 40 fish day 2 71 fish day 3 47 fish and light rains. Water dirty up river and a waste of time. Stay down from Virgin mary. For us it was 99% crank fish more in main water not coves. The success of trip was getting my daughter on her PB she first hit a 5.7 then 45 minutes later a 7.3. Those were our biggest fish with a handful of 5s. Drive is slower with lots of road construction but i would go again in a heartbeat.

Oviachic

Thanks for info Charlie, We are heading down this Friday for 5 days of fishing. I spoke with Roy (filling in for Angel) and he will be working on the ramp. I also spoke with Angels sister who lives in Kansas, and she said they moved Angel to a hospital in Tucson. She didn't specify the medical problem, but was hoping they would figure it out and get Angel back to good health

Thanks
Mike H

I just found out today that Angel passed away earlier this month. He was a really good man and will be missed
