Do you think $0.82 a day for health insurance is to much?

Yes or No!

There is nothing to read into this, and it is not a debate, OK so I changed it a little, lets debate this.
Read my second post below and go from there.

I just want to know how many people think that $0.82 a day for health insurance is to low, to high, just right?

and NO this has nothing to do with the current health care reform debate.

It's too much for me, since I currently pay around $0.00 per day out of my own pocket, and have pretty good coverage.

Really though, it's not a bad figure, all things considered. Say $120/month for a family of four.

That is better than the $863/mo i pay BCBS for a family of 4.
I am assuming that's per person.....so essentially $300 a year.

What kind of Dr do you get for that kind of money?

That can't include medication.....Gonna Cost more than that to pay for all those Cialis commercials!!!!
What about co-pays and deductables ?

That's like asking, "do you think paying $10,000 for a car is too much?"

We would need to know what kind of car, the year, miles, etc.

Not all health insurance is the same...$.82 per day for what? $5000 deductable? $100 co-pay? Does it include dental and vision? That is a VERY vague question.
Elaborate on what's covered for that price as Champ mentioned.
As a healthy single 51 year old male on no meds or pre-existing conditions I'd happily pay
6.00 a day for good coverage with a lower deduct than I have.

i pay 800 a month with my work...... i will take it...
Depends on the coverage....if it's a plan comparable to what most corporations offer then absolutely!!!
Well here is the stipulation, it is an all or nothing scenario.

It would be $25 per person times 303,824,640 = 7,595,616,000.00 per month, or $91,147,392,000.00 a year
The average cost to run a well staffed urgent care center is about $3.6-5 million per year depending on level of care. that works out to be between 300 and 500 urgent care hospitals per state it would be based on state population because abviously CA, and NY would require more hospitals that AK.
You would get pretty much all coverage covered except for major surgery, no co-pay, and you pay for your $4 meds. It would be an automatic deduction from your employer, just like SSN, or medicare or federal taxes, if you get gov't aid it gets deducted first, if you get student grants it gets deducted first if you are a parent you pay for all your dependents, if you are in the military the gov't will pay the $25 into the fund as a part of your pay if you are any other form of gov't worker, same thing applies as the military. The gov't does not manage it, just is a means for collecting the money, the hospitals

I know there are a lot of holes in this, but sometimes you need to start with a simple approach and work out the bugs. Trust me I know this is not the answer, but I just thought I would get some heads scratching.

OK so lets have it, this is your chance to put your cranium to use, and brianstorm this idea.

It's just a scenario, that is open for debate, no sides taken, just looking at a way for everyone to have medical coverage and pay their own way.
What about the people with 10 kids who can barely afford food now? Illegals? People in jail?

Most important about this scenario I think though is you said major surgeries not covered? Well what kind of coverage would you have on these? I think (and I need to find if possible) the percentage of people that file bankruptcy because of major surgeries/accidents. People are not going bankrupt paying for doctor visits I dont think, or I would assume not. That is the biggest question to your solution I believe.
Obamas health care deal is a joke. you guys need to read tge fine print, but there aint any. your going to be required to buy it or get fined by the IRS Thats right the IRS about 3800 year.

there trying to make it sound good but there is no price yet that is set in stone, everything I have read is around 4 k for a family, then if you smoke its 2-4 times higher if your over 60 its higher.

The goverment doesnt even have a ****ing clue to what its going to cost , they just want everyone to ralley behind them pass it then your going to bend over and take it up the ass.
there was also articles saying it would roughly run 13% of your income add your 33% income tax your take home pay is now a whopping 54% gotta love change cause thats what your going to get.

Its hard for me to picture a happy ending to the nightmare we are going through. It seems to be the death of another empire..Truly some scary chit going on.How do we survive???
I would take it at 4K per family and pay a surcharge of 50% at 60. That's 6K a year or about 40% less than what I can get now.
you pay for your $4 meds.
sounds like a co-pay to me. Who pays the remainder? meds certainly cost more the $4.

Walk into Wal-mart with your prescription for any of these MEDS
and guess how much you pay!

$4

What remainder?

What about the other 75% of Drugs that are NOT on this list?

People do not need health insruance for the cheapest medications, and the cheapest costs(dr office visits, checkups etc) they need it for the major ones.

Health Insurance needs to be treated exactly like auto and home is. Your auto does NOT pay for oil changes, new tires, or a new battery. But if YOU do not change your oil your car is dead, if you do not get new tires your car is dead, if you do not change your battery your car is dead.

People need to be FORCED to be more in charge of their own healthcare. When you get it for free(through someone else), you never care as much as if the money is coming out of your pocket.
