85 HP force re-seal lwr unit

question people: I have the boat in the shop and find out the lower unit / end is leaking a bit of oil and they will re-seal for about $360.00. They are not doing a hard sell just letting me know so I don't screw up my motor. Is this a fair price for replacing all of the seals and 0-rings? I would appreciate any input.

I'M SURE GLAD I CAN DO MY OWN MAINTANENCE. I CAN TAKE MY LOWER UNIT OFF MY 200HP. MERC. AND REPLACE THE SEALS IN LESS THAN AN HR. I TAKE MY SEALS TO A AUTO PARTS STORE AND HAVE THEM MATCHED. THIS SAVES ABOUT HALF THE PRICE ON THE SEALS. ON MY 98 75HP. FORCE ALL I'VE EVER DONE IS REPLACE THR IMPELLER A COUPLE TIMES. THAT ONLY TAKES MAYBE 1.5 HRS. OR LESS.
THE BOTTOM LINE IS IS VERY EXPENSIVE TO RUN A SHOP, ALL THE OVER HEAD, AND THAT WHAT YOU PAY FOR.
I too have a 85 force. My impeller needs replaced again or I'm hoping so. The motor stopped pumping water. I have never done it but I am going to tackle it myself.
get a book on your motor and do it yourself. It isn't that hard and you will be wiser for the work.
Call Tim 602-703-1406 works from home or will come to you. No shop fee's and he is certified.
Thanks for the help. I looked into what is involved and I can do it myself no problem. I should have looked into it more to begin with. I will keep Tim's number on hand for any other problems that arise.
