Well we had an excellent day at Alamo lake. Fished primarily the east end. Right off the bat, my son nailed 3-4 lb bass  and took big fish title:hump:. I caught fish, but was playing catch up  for most of the day. Hail the Grand Pubaaaaaaaa :bow:eek:f Alamo lake (pic below) Overall both of us caught alot of fish mainly on topwater and throwing at the fish swirls. Viva the Grand Pubaaaaaaaaa :moon:!!, but as Arnold would say, I'll Be Backkkkkkkk;)

Nice bass. As far as numbers go, how many and what size?
I like to go up their this time of year, but I can never get my father in law to go. He says the fishing sucks up there. I like to go just for a change.
We caught about 35+ today, was on the water at 6:00am and off by 1:30pm. most of them came off a big yellow magic topwater lure(only one i had left, it was beat to "hit, no paint left on it, but it did the job!), my father left three brand new rico's at home:Iconrotfl but ended up using some kind of bad "ss xz2 zell pop that worked pretty good!! a half dozen came off of jigs and worms but it was hard to leave that topwater bite due to all the swirls enticing us back! 3 overs early(all the big ones caught before 7:30). all the rest were 3 to 14 inch's(yes we caught 2 bass that were the same size as the topwater lure, no pic's of those)! we always go up here in the fall and the spring(sometimes twice a week in the spring)generally it's a great spinner bait bite but this time we could not buy a spinner bite:confused:. by the way i the i'm the one with the 19incher in the pic above!!:deb:

I would have to say:confused:, I caught around  15 and my son, probably 20:hump:. Fished until around 1 pm. 90% of our fish came on Top Water :lol:As for size, best guess, since we catch and release and didn't have a ruler, 3 overs, around 10 in the slot, other unders. Most of our fish were caught :D NE part of the lake, primarily at points, throwing at swirls:cool:. We were next to another bass boat that was doing the same , points, throwing into swirls, and they were also on a catching roll :hump: . We were going to go to San Carlos, but glad we decided on Alamo ;)
Sounds good. Was there still a bunch of shad swimming around?
I went last year and the bass were more interested in live bait.

just put the trolling motor on high and bring your far casting rods. there was alot of bass busting shad all over the lake, but from 9:00am to 1:00pm they were going crazy, as soon as we went to one point the other point we came from was going crazy:whiteflag. but i guess that was a good problem to have!!
What boat were guys in? I was out there with Decoy in a grey and blue Ranger. We had a stellar day, also.
fishing was crazy good. Nice to meet some zonians...
follow up. caught too many to count, literally, on all types of lures, assasins, top water, drop shot, xraps, puppies. Over 30 in the 15+ size but no overs. Fantastic day
