I'd like to find some sort of report from Alamo if anyone knows??? Something other than what their store might report over the phone. I'd like to go in the near future but would rather not if things are that bad.
Thank you

Bayou,

Personal opinion...if you are going there from the east valley right now you may as well spend a little extra time and head to Mexico. I say that because it's a long drive for someone heading to bass fish with not enough reward from past experience. Now a crappie/quail/camping trip this time of year is all together another discussion. I hope all is well. Start chumming...I'll be there soon.

Hence, the request for a report!
It's a 3 hour drive - not too bad - especially if there are decent reports coming out. No reward? This is the only place I've ever caught an enormous amount of fish in a day - partner and I shared 70 LM's a few years ago in the winter. Mexico and back in a day is a bit tough for this kid. Have a safe trip out, Brandon.

Bayou.
I havent been there for over a year now but the fishing was always good in nov. dec and jan.

Blades and top water also a good jig bite by the dam.
If we get alot of water in wait a week or 2 for it to settle then the lake is on fire

Oh yeah Alamo lake store is for sale with all the campgrounds and marina.

Thanks, DelW. The day we caught 70 we threw nothing but spinnerbaits. I hope they get some water this winter - I could probably handle another day like that! I could see that store falling into the Del-Mart Enterprises network!

Oh man I wish I had the cash.

That would be great live out there and work out there.

My trained Burro's came from there

I would definatly start a tourny trail out there.

Only problem with that place is its freaking hot

I agree with Bayou. I have been up there a few years back about this time and was catching 50 to 60 LM a day and throwing nothing but t-rigged confetti colored lizards and blades all day. Hey Bill if you decide to head out to Alamo let me know. I may follow you up there so you can clear the road of all the wild burros up there!

Seriously though if you are heading up there sometime let me know. I'm just looking for a reason to fish that lake again if its picking up

"clear the road" reminds me of going up there and plowing through donkey droppings on the road I didn't see in early morning darkness. The stuff sprayed up all over my boat hull and trailer from my truck tires. It took months before it was all off.
Tad...I'd love to go. :p In your boat I'd just love to spend time just sitting in it even if it's in your garage! :D

I didn't realize you had fished it with that success. 70 bass is more than I've ever caught there. Incidently, I didn't say "no reward", I said "not enough reward" (for me that is). Fishing is always somewhat rewarding. I've just never caught any size there. Same as Roosevelt and Bartlett for me. Numbers of smaller fish. Unfortunately, those are also all my favorite crappie lakes. I heard back in "the day", Alamo was loaded with large bass. I've heard the same of Rosy, but you couldn't prove it by me.

That said, I see now that you were clearly looking for reports, not opinions.
