I was there Sunday and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. Near the dam, there was a film of scum (plant particals and debris) and I saw one or two dead fish, but that was it. There were several fish jumping/busting.
i am under the impression that they are not going to maintain the lake this year. they will be taking samples for merc and excessive bloom/alge but they will not be up keeping!!!! Rumor is that the lake will be dry /no fish by 2005 and that you will hear a talk about a resevior (sp) being installed around Green Valley area but will not happen till 2007. just what I have heard.
There is not a fish kill going on at Arivaca Lake right now. Water quality at the lake is in good condition and things are going good. The lake does have a bloom ongoing but it does not have us alarmed at this point. So its all just rumor at this point.
There is also no truth in the lake being dry and fishless by 2005 nor is there any truth in a new lake near Green Valley, afraid both are just rumors as well.
