Fished Bartlett flats 5-7 p.m. Caught three and lost one (all small, all LMB) during a shad explosion around 6:15 p.m. I had what I guess were a 1000 bluegill bites before and after that time but could not seem to set my 1/0 wide gap hook on them?? Returned back to the main lake 7-9:30 p.m. t-rigging worms with not even a b ite. Lesson learned regarding barlett flat boat traffic on a sunday evening-stay home!! Still, it beat listening to the Cardinal post game report!!

I was up there on Sunday also. The traffic was pretty bad. I was getting the same thing on the bite. I was getting hammered as soon as it hit the water near the bank. I think it was Blue Gill. We stopped in a cove and got out to take a dip and the Blue Gill were all over. I started feeding them pringles and there must of been 30 of them swimming around, aggressive little turds. Then my buddy says something bit him in the water. The damn Blue gill were biting the hair on your legs. It didnt hurt, just makes you a little jumpy. you could feel them hitting your shoe and every once in a while bam,bam, bam they would hit your leg. The fish turned the tables. First time Ive ever been bit by the fish in the lake.

we raise the bluegill to be feisty. i have seen more than 1 skinny dipper launch out of the water due to a bluegill bite in the nether regions. the bass are hitting agressively like the bluegill.
