Bartlett Lake

We were at Bartlett lake yesterday. We fished in the main lake part and caught several small bass. (Nothing worth talking to much about). But it let us look for some new spots to fish.

I don't know if anyone else noticed that there seems to be a lot of dead bass floating around. We tried to save one the was still a live and not do very good to find it had several cuts on both side. Kinda like it was caught up in something. But there was no saving it.

I hope Fish and game are keeping an eye on this, just in case it is a problem.

I saw a couple myself in the river...pretty weird
2 or 3 weeks ago i fished up in the river and saw at least 10, 8"-10" lmb floating. it was just past ship rock. if i had to make a guess, someones killing the small bass. weeding them out. that was the only place i saw them.
UH-OH, someones fishing with a weedeater!
Someone killing

Someone killing bass just to weed out is not a good thing. Taking a few home to eat is not a bad thing. But Just to kill I would have to say is a problem. We saw LM bass up too 2 lbs yesterday.

I hope that if someone is killing just to weed them out the fish and game can catch them and throw the book at them.
was there on Sat. saw several dead fish as well!
We've been seeing dead bass for the past two weeks...
Bartlett

Fished Friday night and Saturday saw the same thing mostly on the main lake. Probably 8 or 10 dead fish. Caught 35 or so but mostly little rats.
some of the fish we caught sat night, had round 1" round red sores on there sides.
Saw a few on Sunday AM. I just figured they didn't survive the JackAZ.
the ones i saw were all within a 150-200 yards from each other. 1 shore line. Decal, where did you see em?

common in summer time. especially fish in or rescently form the river. warm water breeds bacteria. They get viruses/sores just like any animal can.
I would say your seeing the result of fish caught and released, going down a bank and catching ten rats and throwing them all back would have this affect if they were not fizzed before release, if deep enough. I know we were fishing twenty feet and deeper and releasing all our smaller fish.

Exactly what I was thinking. A lot of people dropshotting fish in 20-30ft right now too.
We where in the main lake see the dead fish on Sunday. Saturday we were in the river and I don't recall see them up there. I know some said they did see them in the river.

I fished that lake alot last year and do not remember see that many dead fish at any time.
