Bartlett Sunday
Fished Bartlett this am and it was a great morning. Started off fishing a buzzbait and with the cooler water temps and the cool wind I fished it all day and it was fairly productive with the biggest fish close to three.
My 7 year old son out fished me(numbers not size) using a LC hard jerkbait. I was so proud to watch him work that Jerk with a snap,snap, pause, snap,snap cadence and it paid off for him. The fish although smaller, were all over that jerkbait. Today was the day that I had seen it in his eyes that he will be hooked for years to come. I asked if he wanted to stop and fish for Bluegill and he said lets just keep on BASS fishing. He would give me the FISH ON! and then he would pump and reel that thing in. He was getting his sidecast down and the understanding that the fish would be by the points and started to call them out as we passed.
My youngest was our dedicated fish release specialist.
Finished the day with a swim with the boys and off the water at noon.
One of my best days on the water!!!!!

Yea get them catching them young and thet are hooked, my boy got the fever some 28 years ago at the age of 4 and it hasn't broke yet. now we fish tourneys together as often as we can. keep up the good work.

Thanks Mitch. They will be at the house looking for all sorts of thing now. I swear its like a Fishing Halloween when they get to your place...they leave with a bag of goodies.
LOL...That's how my boy was at Bartlett with perch rapala's ....He caught two nice bass on 'em and thought that was it....I need a few more now. He needs to fill his box with them, its his lucky lure.
