Bartlett Today
I thought it was going to be a great day for me as the weather has cooled and I figured with football season maybe a Sunday would have a little less pressure these days. Wrong and wrong! I couldn't find what the fish really wanted to eat, as a matter of fact I couldn't find where they were. They were not in my favorite places for this time of year.
I through the usual for fall, cranks, blade, buzzed a little. I could not find a reaction bite at all. After catching one small fish that I think I may have casted into his mouth while he was yawning, I decided to chase a report(I hate to do that) and went up the river. There were fish popping here and there but nothing that I could see worth putting alot of energy into. Fished the west deep steep bank past the no wake. I broke out a shakey head and started getting fish but man were they small. Figured this wasn't my game and went back out to the points. Let me tell you there was a ton of wake boats on the main lake and with the wind it just seemed to me that the reaction bite was put down and I wasn't in the mood to fairy stick it. I decided to catch a few games and got the hell out of there at 11:00.
Was wondering if I was the only guy that had a tough time today. I hope you all did better then me.

same thing here planning to head out there tomorrow morning but i think im still going.
Shoulda went to Plez Doc. We caught about 30 fish yesterday. Bartlett rat size but hey, look at your report!
Game time decision and I was about to make a left and the truck went right. They will be eating something fierce cuz they didn't eat shit on Sunday.
You suck ron... shoulda came to the delta with us. It's kickin out some HUGE bags right now!! a 13 and a 9 pound bag for us HAHAHAHA
Thats HUGE!!! joey. I've been having the same trouble at bartlett recently. I did find something that works though. After trying my go to bait(chigger craw) at bartlett with limited success and throwing everything else, I started sorting through all my chit. Somehow I ended up in my ultralight tackle box and found the answer. Are you guys going to the Jackaz Am tourney there on the 3rd??
Fished Bartlett Sat (19th) late after noon till 9:00pm..caught 3 ( 1- 3pounder) Fished Sunday and put 4 more in ...fished one end of lake to other...fish are there, very soft bite..( all plastics...various)
fished Sat. 4pm till dark about 20 fish in the boat, yes mostly on the dreaded drop shot. found a few takers sun. mourn on cranks and traps. and a few more on yammy grubs finished up with 9 more on DS. lot of nursery school but did find some good fish this trip finally. would've had about 10lbs for best 5 on Sat. and 7-8 for best 5 on Sun.

Tough for me as well on Sunday...Fished 600am -1230pm and had 6 fish going maybe 8 #.....No reaction bite for me in the river early so about 1030 I moved to midlake where there was a breeze and that really seemed to help the reaction bite.. Fish seemed to be in what few bushes were there. Had to fish the shade to get a bite...

Not sure if we are gonna fish the Am or not. Its up to james, he wants to fish the allstar now.
Fished Bart Sunday. 4:30 AM till 9:00 10 fish all on cranks. 1.5 to 2.5. Had one big hit.. Oh SON !.. half way back to the boat .. crap.. I can tell its a cat. 4 pounder. What is he doing in 30 feet of water chomping on my crankbait?

Fished it yesterday @ 1st light. Worked from the ramp to the marina. 20 -30 dinks on a size 14 beadhead pheasant tail nymph using a floating line. A blast on a 2 wt! Nothing close to a pound but fun!
