Beginner looking for a new rod
I want to buy a 6'6" M or MH maybe with a fast tip spinning rod. I want to also find a good spinning reel to go with it.
This will be my first Rod for bass fishing...is this a good choice?
What would be a good 2nd rod as well?
Any advice is well appreciated.
Oh, my budget is about 100-150.

I made changes in the original post.
the hmg's are $120 new. their in good shape. the cork is dirty but will clean up nicely
Oh, another thing...I maybe looking for the same kind of setup for my son...he is 7 and is in the Phoenix Junior Bass Masters.

There are plenty of good ideas in there.
Can't go wrong with the HMG's, nice rods and Just J's price is very reasonable.

Since you asked, I would say even if you are a beginner, spinning is not the right choice. To each his own though, I would still pick a baitcaster.
