The Best Bet Aluminum Boat Championship Tournament was held on Roosevelt Lake on September 18th & 19th. Ken Howden and Gary Understiller pulled in the big bass both days and won the championship title. The biggest bass weight was 4.62lbs; total weight for the two days was 24.04 lbs. Their total winnings were $2,050. Second place went to Don & Dusty Ashford with a total weight of 22.38 lbs, and checks totaling $900. Ken Bryant and Buzz Harris cashed $450 with their third place weight of 20.29 lb. Carl Purtill and Dwight Ashford also cashed a $100 check for 2nd big bass on the 1st day of the tournament.
Congratulations to all the anglers who qualified for this tournament. We had a small field, but it was a fun and the camaraderie these guys share makes the circuit worth it’s weight in gold. The new season begins October 3 on Roosevelt Lake (Windy Hill). We have revamped the format to make it more affordable. The basic entry is $200 including big bass, and there is only one $50 Maxi T option. We have also discontinued the “membership fee” for all Allstar events.
This year, the anglers will be fishing for a trip for two to either Lake Baccarac or El Salto in Mexico. (not including air fare). The prize includes three days of fishing and a 4 night all inclusive stay at the resort. Check out http://lakebaccaracsbigbassadventures.com/ for more detail on the prize.
Go to http://www.allstarbass.org for entry forms, membership info forms and rules of the tournament.
