Hi all, a couple question for those accomplish few fishers who can say," I catch the large bass, consistantly. " My BF is 3lbs. My son and I have fished many, many days and nights. The Big Fish Gods have forsaken us!...or so my son says anyways.
How many trips fishing on average = 5lb or better.

What is the Holy Grail to catching BF here is the great state of Arizona
thanks TS

Big ass jigs, fished slow and patient!!!!
The bigger the bait , the bigger the fish. if you want to use small you'll catch small. you just need to find a big bait thast feels for you.
Summer I like big worms, 10" or longer. Winter and prespawn is swimbait and jerkbait time for me. Ask Delw about the spawn, him and his kids are masters at catching those spawning beauties.
its not always bigger bait bigger fish, a lot of time it is where you are fishing.
Where are the bigger fish are?
Bigger isnt always better for big fish. I have caught plenty of 5+ fish on dropshot and small swimbaits. A couple days ago I stuck a 7 pounder on dropshot at Saguaro using a 6 inch worm... Our best 5 that day at Saguaro were over 22 pounds and they were all on the dreaded dropshot...

My PB was just over 10 pounds and I got it on a 10 inch power worm, I doubt that fish would have shyed away from a smaller bait though....

Exactly...
Fish the prespawn with cranks, good chance.
I've caught 10" bass on 12" worms, and 5# bass on 4" worms. Bigger isn't always the ticket...
A weightless senko can produce some big fish during ceratin times of the year if you know where to fish it.

EVERYTHING can produce big fish during certain times of the year of you know where to fish it! Location, pattern, and time of year!
alright I think we established you can catch big fish on anything!

Time on the wate my friend.... time on the water! keep learning, pay attention, You'll get a biggn!
Our biggest bass out of Mission Viejo was caught on a 4 inch black worm (11.9) in the middle of summer. A majority of people throw big baits so we do the opposite at times.
+1 on weightless senkos (wacky). That produced my biggest bass. Right time, right place, right presentation, = big bass. Sometimes you get lucky too
Hey dude Im rollin to Rosy Tommorrow night with my kids and some of thier friends.....we'll be working waterdogs on deep humps, trying to get someone an 8

I've caught tons of fish over 5 on the *** shot, but bigger fish for me anyway came on swimbaits and jigs...

wow joey u always manage to get the best girls. Youre my idol :riaa:
Go deep & slow on the main lake points (15-30)
Fish lakes that have bigger fish in them, Fish deeper, fish places other people dont.
Just stand on the ramp, face the water, point, make an angry face, and yell BIG FISH....BITE NOW!
You got that all wrong - it's Here fishy fishy
You have to be satisfied with not catching alot of fish to target big fishBass are agressive predators that will eat their own. For the most part little bass don't hang with big bass. For those who have fished Mexico this is more apparent as we have all seen big bass with fish stuck in their mouth they can't swallow. One time our guide picked up a 9+ with a 6 lber stuck in its mouth. If we are catching 5 lb fish we move. I think that the 5 lbr's don't stay around the bigger fish. We generally catch more of the bigger fish than others in the group. JMO
