A lot of guy's put some type of ball in the jack plate to help the boat plane quicker instead of sucking a bunch of water thru the plate. You can do the same thing by putting a plate on the bottom of the jack plate if it's set up for it.
they are volleyballs
Mostly added to keep the boat more level when its stopped and to get the boat on plane faster, They used to use these on the older gamblers before trim tabs were put on them. Made a huge difference in getting the boat on plane faster so you wouldnt go nose up for 30-50 yardsto stop backwash

With the big 300 on back, combined with the setback, you can get a bit of backwash. The "balls" also help a bit on holeshot... The CC is a 3 seater ( he doesn't have the other seats installed. Notice the grab handles on each side )...

The preflight marker is what cracks me up. (Remove before flight)
