Ray.
Thats a good question.
I hardley ever threw a buzzbait or spinner bait at Lake Pleasant, But always watched guys weigh in some nice fish using them, a year and a half ago I decided thats all I was going to throw for 3 week straight( when I was fishing almost every day). It was in the summer when I started(westy kept telling me about spinner baits) and after about 9-10 days I started catching fish on them. Then after a while I wa catching lots of nice 2lbers on them with an occassional 5-6, so I got hooked (ask Sir DonutMan) thats all I threw for damn near a year.
I look for big rounded rocks with those cocaburrs in them or a little brush(not big bushes), that or big mud flats when the lake is drawing down. I always have one tied on now and use them alot. they work all year as well.
The buzz baits I have had the best luck with in open water 10-40 feet deep off of points and sometimes in coves. I like the clacker ones , the louded the better. I have one here that has a 3" blade on it and Ive caught some real nice fish.
When fishing a buzz bait have your partner throw behind you with a spinner bait, someone told me that and it seems to work pretty well.
when the water has a little breeze I have had my best luck with both.
