Canyon Woes

I was glad to hear that I was not the only one who had a tough weekend at Canyon. I went out twice this weekend (Sat and Sun afternoon 2-5:30 pm) and got skunked. I threw cranks and spinnerbaits to points, dropoffs, and flats and didn’t even get a hit. I talked to a few people at the dock who did well on jigging spoons in the morning, and one guy who says he caught a dozen LM/SM on a small 3-inch Yamomoto worm with a split shot in 20-30 feet.

I also talked to a guy who says some other people caught about 30 LM up to 5 or 6 lbs on Saturday by jigging spoons near the bouys on the north (main lake) side of the first bridge.

I froze my backside off on Saturday afternoon and almost got blown of the lake. It was better on Sunday but still mighty cold.

Maybe I'll stick to Bartlett from now on.
