My old lady has NEVER been fishing, and apparently she "has no desire to either." Any of you guys have a woman you got hooked on fishing? How the hell did you do it?

My wife loves to go fishing she grew up in MN. and has fished most of her life. Our problem is If we both go we need a sitter If I go Im usually home by the time breakfast is done.
I left her alone long enough she decided to spend less time without me... Took her out and she caught fish now she wants to go.
Yep, get a rod in her hand (and not your rod) and a fish on the end of the line, she'll be hooked forever.
Yeah, start her off maybe next week at the urban ponds when they plant catfish. They're kind of easy to catch right after stocking, and then move her up to bass. Thats what I did with my ex-wife.
talk about how much fun it is and show her your passion fir it, when you love to do something enough others will gravitate toward it cuz they wanna know what your all fired up about bud. no coaxing needed. she will either like it or not but gotta be smart about it too, dont stick a swimbait rod in her hands. start with spinnerbaits or cranks or topwater. something active.
I need to get her piece of shit spincast for like 10 bucks. She'd probably throw one of my spinning rigs right in the lake...... And she doesn't care about my fishing stories just like I don't care about her periods.
Mike,

If you never try to satisfy her, you'll never be disappointed.

TRUST ME! I'm an insurance agent!

GR.
Get her started on a hot crappie bite this spring. She'll be hooked after that.

Get her a pink breast cancer Phleuger rod and reel combo, that helped. She also grew up in MN, but I can't get her away from bobbers (any suggestions on that?). At least I get to go fishing.
She don't want to go fishing and I don't care anymore! As long as I can get out fishing with family and/or friends, that's good enough for me.
My wife has never been in the boat with m in 22 years and she has no desire to start now. I kinda like that setup.

She always asks how the fishing was when I got home and she tolerates my spending habits that revolve around fishing. That's a pretty good setup.
Took mine to Seneca, taught her to cast with an old ABU spincast combo, tied on a Kastmaster and that first fish was all it took. Now she's always up for a trip to the lake.

That doesn't work. I got one for my girl and she still doesn't go... It's either too early, too hot, or too cold... i now use that rod as a DS rod. Works great when I wanna feel like a sissy.

We even won a tourney. Gave her "some if the money." She caught our 2nd big fish while sleeping. I tied on a DS and dragged it behind the boat... Couldn't believe it.

Still, no luck on getting her to go... Oh well, the 60mph boat ride up river will dry my tears.
by old lady do you mean mom's, she's always up to go fishing, but i dont have the patience to teach someone, i like to just get out there and fish instead of picking out knots and backlashes, but she still asks about the fishing and listens to me when i talk about it, but i guess thats her job to listen to her son, lol. love you mom!
keep her away from fishing by buddys ole lady likes to fish and now there is no such thing as a guys trip she stomps and throws a fit so she always has to tag allong.
i married a girl from montana who's father always hunted and fished. i get about three trips without her before she get's pissed and i have to take her with me. oh yeah, and she bought me a boat.
Bought you a boat Fredo, now that's my type of woman. You lucky Devil!
