Hey Delw, On Tuesday I`m getting two X-15 Lowrance graphs one with GPS. What I need to know, Is on the back one do I need the puck or skimmer. I want my graph to read when I`m on plan. I have an X-85 on now with the transducer on the out side of the boat. And it don`t read at all when i`m on plan. Jeff said the shoot throgh don`t read as well. What do you think? Because I`m getting this stuff coming from lowrance in the A.M. Jamie

Heck I havent had good luck with any through hull ones, I got friends that have them with no problems. but I dont have a lowrance either.. Da ot DaveH might have an idea.

the skimmer on the back end of the boat likes to throw a roostertail when on plane.

Oh yeah the bolt through one is not like the one pictured in that link

I heard they have a little round one about 1" dia that only sticks out of the bottom of the hull about 1/8-1/4 inch and its flat.
I saw a pic of one once,. the only draw back is it has a small cone angle.

Shoot through is ok as long as you have a good solid bottom, some boats are not solid fiberglass on the bottom and have a problems reading
