Here's my two cents:

I have a Lowrance X70A on the console with a rear-mounted t-ducer and a Fishmark 320 on the t-motor. I get thick vertical line feedback on the 320 if I'm in 35' or more of water. Goes away as soon as I shut down the X70.

I think when you're in deeper water, the two cones are able to cross due to the depth. This is what leads to the bad feedback, I think.

That's part of it. The other is element is that where 2 graphs are operating at the same frequency. This is one reason you're starting to see the Dual Frequency option on some of the Lowrance line.
