Reagardless of your opinion about gay rights, homosexuality, whether its natural, normal, should be accept openly, or should be kept behind closed doors, or whatever...
Phil exercised his right to free speech. He was suspended for it by a Disney Corp. Disney is one of the most in your face PC brainwashing organizations in public media. Remember the movie Cars? It was 2 hours of brainwashing that "sure gasahol was a horrible and damaging idea, but some how its the big oil companies fault."
In some of the chat groups its been argued that Phil's right to free speech has not been infringed. "It was his right to say it, and it was his employers right to fire him. Free speech doesn't come without repercussions!" I read that and thought it sure sounded like an infringement of free speech.
Then I read the reply. "So if I worked for a more conservative company and I made openly pro gay comments would it also be my employers right to fire me, or is true free speech only reserved to the current PC group?"
Obviously in today's PC environent his comments were inflammatory, but it was not illegal. By his standards they were not immoral. He didn't incite persecusion. Why should his right to free speech be legally allowed to be countered by anything more than free speech of a countering point of view?
