First Saguaro Trip

Hi I'm new to this forum, and new to bass fishing. I'm planning to head up to Saguaro on Friday with a couple friends to fish that afternoon and evening. We'll be in a canoe taking off from the beach at Butcher Jone's. I've been doing some research online and talking with the guys at BPS, so I think I'm set on bait and rigs.

So my question is, does anyone have any suggestions on where in the lake to start dropping my line? I'm not looking for a record breaker, just hoping for some action on the line and a good time. Thanks!

Main lake points in 5-25 feet of water (they are moving up and down) Drop shot morning dawn robos on a #2 red gamikatsu octopuss hook on a 12-18" leader and you will spank em. drag the bait and dead stick it alot, they dont seem to be eating if you are shaking it. GL
Dont go to saguaro there are no fish in that lake. lol

Like the new avatar. You have a very "wide" collection
I take much pride in my stable of giant asses and basses:) Thanks for the compliment
Thanks guys! I'll let you know how it goes tonight.
Night Bite= Big ribbon tail worms 12"ers pegged texas rig right on shore. Thuis bite turns on late but when you get into them you will stick some quality fish. If that doesnt work try Westie worms or wired worms and fish it slow.
Well, unfortunatly no luck last night. We were out there from 5:30 to 11:00. We were floating up and down the shore in the area near Butcher Jone's trying a variety of worms on drop shot rig and texas rigs.
I said main lake points. You gotta find good chunky rock. Butcher jones has neither. Better luck next time

Since he was in a canoe, I'm sure he was a little cautious about venturing out onto the "main" lake, I know I would be....
I don't know if this is proprietary info, but maybe I'll just prove to you how little I know. What do you mean exactly by "main lake points"? That's what I thought I was attempting to fish, but apparently not.

Desertbird: Yeah I wasn't sure how it exciting it would get in the canoe with three people. At first, our third (middle) man was sitting on a short stool and every time a wakeboarder went by we wondered if it would be the one to send us to the bottom. Luckily, when the middle guy sat down on the floor we stopped fearing death and were able to focus on a little fishing. I've done that a few times before, but never on a lake that big.
Yeah a canoe @ Sag could be a little sketchy. What I meant by main lake points are the fingers that stick out into the main body of water. Sag in a canoe could be fun but I would wait until winter so you dont get killed by some sausage boater:)
