WAS GETTING POLES READY FOR BARTLETT LAST FRIDAY. WENT TO TIE ON SOME LURES AND THE LINE KEPT BREAKING. THIS WAS ONLY PUT ON IN APRIL. IT'S 14LB FLORO P-LINE. I PULLED A BUNCH OFF, SAME PLOBLEM. I USE POLAMOR KNOTS AND WET IT. I'VE HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE.
DOES FLORO HAVE A SHELF LIFE. I STORE THE POLES IN MY TACK ROOM WHICH HAS NO COOLING.

I never had that issue with Seaguar. What kind are you using?
Seagaur is AWESOME! Make the switch the Seagaur Carbon-pro, invis-x, abras-x, or red label!!!
HEAT WILL DEFINATELY BREAK DOWN A FISHING LINE, MONO OR FLORO
There was a article in bass masters that talked about some pro who had problems with the polymer knot on florocarbon line. He recommended using the eugene knot with florocarbon. I've been using it with good success. Here's a link on how to tie it. It the article they show a wrap of 3 times and this shows it at 4 times???

On floro-line i use the trielen knot and have know problems.
IS there any light that is is in the room at all times. You should store your line in a dark place to keep the shelf life.

I believe he said 14lb P-line.
I CHECKED THE SITE. I'LL TRY THE KNOT. THE ROOM IS DARK EXCEPT WHEN I FORGET TO TURN THE LIGHT OFF. I KNOW FLORO IS NOT AS DURABLE AS MONO. WHEN I FISH POWELL THOSE STIPERS TARE IT UP IN A COUPLE FISH. THOSE STRIPERS CANE SEE THE MONO AND BRAIDED LINE. FLORO IS A MUST FOR STRIPERS. I'LL ALSO TRY THE SEAGUAR.

THANKS
I am not sure I would wory about the knot as much as I would about the line itself. If it breaking easy better get rid of it.
you put the line on in april!!?
holy cow you dont fish enough!!!!!!
change your line every 3 times out and you wont have any problems
mono or floro
what happens if you catch that toad and your line breaks because you left the line on since april,, come-on bro get with the program, we dont want to read a story from you on the one that got away!!!!!!!! better safe then sorry change your line every 3 times out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I use the improved clinch knot, never had a one come undone or break.
dont use berkley vanish, shit sucks mad balls

that's what i was thinking too. when mine does that i respool. i don't catch enough fish to let the ones i get hooked get away..
Not to be a d***, but are you sure about you line type, weight? I don't think P-line makes a 14lb line. either 12 or 15. That said, I use and have read that several pros use a San Diego knot.

Im with you man. I lost a double digit fish after fighting it for 2 minutes to line snapage. I new I should have changed my line but was in a hurry. Sure enough a hog bit my line and snapped it.

I used Pline Halo in the past, but now have switched to vicious on my bigger poles and Seagaur abrasX for my dropshot. That seagaur is amazing stuff boy. I buy it in the 3000yd spool. It is worth the money!
Dave, I experienced this same problem (but I lost a few great lures when it happened), it broke like a hot knife through butter (checked my rod guides and they are fine). I found out when I spoke to a friend and avid P-Liner user, (he looked at a few sites) that others had experienced the same problem with P-Line fluoro. I immediately took it off, threw away my P-Line fluoro, and changed brands. Same knots as before (palamar) and no more problems. I have never had a problem with palamar on any lines, and test.

Some guess P-Line simply had a bad run or change in process. Not sure but I won't buy it any more and used to be a fan.

Good luck.
GOT TO STOP BY PERFORMACE MARINE GET MY 5GALS OF TWO STROKE OIL. THEN I'LL GO BY CABELAS AND GET LINE FOR ALAMO THURSDAY AND FRIDAY.
If you kept the line at room temp with no light, the line should've been okay.... Try a different brand! I love seaguar but i change my line much more frequently than you do
