Personally, I am not a fan of P line floroclear. I prefer the copolymers like P line cxx or if I can find it, McCoys. I've lost a lot of fish off of Flouroclear, or is it floroclear? Either way, I'm not very impressed with the stuff.

Parting shot: I'm not near the fisherman that a lot of my friends are, but I know what I like and don't like. P line Flouroclear is a no go in my book.

90% of my reels are spooled with P-line fluoroclear. I still haven't had a chance to try the P-line fluorocarbon. I can't seem to wear out that fluoroclear I guess. And I use it 3 times a week.

Did he just call me HUN?

Do I go running around calling you sweetie? How'd you like it if I called you Ray You-don't-know-Jacks Hitt?

Seriously, do not despair Ray, your time to fish 3 times a week will be here soon enough. Don't rush it!

I have used both and prefere the pure flouro for drop-shot. I use 6lb instead of 8lb flouroclear. Less stretch, stronger and still lays well on the spool.
I also have 10lb on pure flouro my other spinning reel and the jury is still out. The pure flouro is definitely stronger and has less stretch, but it is not behaving as well as the flouroclear did. I have read that you have to use pure flourocarbon for awhile before it softens some and lays better on the spool.
I have 12lb flourocarbon on my worm rod(curado) and want to try the pure flouro, but like DA have had trouble wearing it out. I have not used this setup much this year tough.

One final note, WDW does both in bulk: .04/yd for flouroclear, .10/yd for the pure flourocarbon.

Denny,

You haven't had a problem with Flouroclear fraying and being generally vulnerable to rip rap or rocky structure? I used to spool most of my reels with the stuff, but it just didnt' seem to last. I would like to try the "pure" flouro and give a critique on it sometime.

I just had one time too many where the flouroclear would just break off by pulling on the line with my two hands! Man, is that frustrating when it's the only stuff on your reels. That was a lesson well learned. Just in case you were wondering.....I keep my rods and reels inside the house. Maybe I just got a bad batch?

John,

All I can think is you MUST have gotten some bad line. That stuff is ridiculously abrasion resistant. The biggest complaint I've heard of is its' memory, but I haven't had that problem. Actually, I have huge memory problems, but not with the line. What were we talking about again...oh yeah... That said, everybody has their preferences. I only buy Fords for example...and they've let me down many times before. Come to think of it, maybe you shouldn't listen to my advice afterall.

P-Line

I got da using it and I have never had a problem with it. Once I got some bad six pound, but that was a very long time ago. I'g look for some bad rod guides or something else is wrong. I use floroclear all the time and have a very hard time wearing it out. I only change line when There's no more line to cast.

Thanks guys!

I think I got a bad batch of 6lb way back when I tried it out. My rod guides are smooth as glass, so I don't think that's the problem. I guess it's back to the store to buy some. I usually go to WDW, but I think I'll give Bear Mountain a whirl. Ken, can you refresh my memory where your store is located? Thanks!

John
