Wow, I had no idea! All this time I thought it was the rainbow was the secret sign.
I remember when I learned what the rainbow meant....was in college and went to a local bar that had a number of pool tables...well, had never been there on this particular weekday night and they had a big rainbow hanging over the doorway....the lights were very dimmed and as my eyes adjusted I saw some of the couples kissing.....and as my eyes adjusted further I saw they were all same gender!
I came home one Christmas and saw that my sister was sporting a flashy new rainbow sticker on her back window....I asked her if she started playing for the other team....she's like..."what the he!! are you talking about???".....I tell her what the deal is with the rainbow and this look comes over her face and she says...."well that explains a lot..." I laughed my @ss off and she promptly removed the sticker.
