Poll::
I am looking into another high end rod and the comparison between Loomis and Phenix rods and/or other high end rods. Before I go out and spend a weeks salary on a fishing rod I wanted to hear what yall think. I am looking for a good jigging rod and a dropshot rod of high quality.

Both are good rods............I have heard from Boat Cop that the new Phenix PX1 series rods are loomis blanks anyways........As for Loomis, I'll let you fish with one of my IMX's next time out and you can see for yourself...................Franklin

Try the 6'9" St Croix for a drop shot rod, $150.00 for it (liars corner), you can spend 350.00 for an evola, but I doubt it will catch you anymore fish. I use a 6'6" med/hvy phenix for jigs. Great rod but some of the others are good also. Dreamer's father turned me onto the phenix several years ago and you can order directly and have it custom built. Just my thoughts, you will probably get twenty more suggestions. If you live on the east side stop by an see Ken at Bear Mtn, he may let you use one of his loomis to try.

The dude at Phenix pissed me off for the last time. 3-$500 blank orders and they all GOT LOST BY UPS. right. good rods, suck at customer service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I told him to EAT me. Got a deal in the works for lamiglass IM-7 rods at what the Phenix blanks would have cost me. got the Shikari graphite/ glass crankbait rod in and just about finished with it. it is SWEEEEET. Also just built a 7 foot Lamiglass IM-7 med hvy worm rod. you should see this one Franklin!!!!!!!!

Oh, the owner at Phenix is named Tye. If you do business with him beware. he is the new owner, Bought out the rod company 8 months ago and could never get a rod since. I own 7 of them and got them Pre Tye when they were a reliable company. also heard Yamamoto is looking for a new rod company to build his rods too. Just a frienly reminder to beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

St Croix

St Croix's 6'9" Med. Light is perfect for dropshotting, I'm still getting used to the sensitivity and I've been doing it for 4 years. I have several of their medium action baitcasting rods and one MH, absolutely awesome, Avid series. I broke one rod tip and crushed the lower end of another rod and both times they sent me a new rod for free, it does'nt get any better than that. The Loomis are great rods, but for the money St Croix in my book are the best bang for the buck bar none!
