I recorded a few videos and want to email them but they are to big. I have tried to zip them but they still will not go. Does anyone know of a program i can use to compress these videos so that I can email them?
Thanks in advance for your help

Bobby,

You need a program like this to split the file into smaller ones:

Problem with either of these options, is the person on the other end needs the same software.

Another option would be to upload the video to MegaUpload or rapidshare and send download link to whoever needs it.

You could also resize the video. if it is 720x480(dvd) you could resize it to 320x240. I do this with movies for my son's PSP takes a ~4GB movie file down to ~600-700K or smaller.

G'day All,

VLC is a nice open source utility that I've used for a number of projects. Have a look at their web page to see if it is a good fit for your needs.

The newer video formats such at MP4 provide much better compression. I believe this is the format used for most of the streaming media, youtube, myoutdoortv, etc...

Hope this helps.

Cheers!
