How long should my battery last.

Hey guys I have a 18' Laser bass boat with a 55lb minn kota maxxum trolling motor. How long should my battery last with moderate use throught out the day. I typically fish 5 hrs on a weekend morning and it seems like no matter how much Im on the trolling motor the battery is always at 50% when I get home and put it on the charger.

aluminum? if so mine same but with a bit more except when its windy. new batt too. think its nature of the beast having an aluminum boat. if its not then maybe could be time for batt.
I have the same Minn kota as you, however my Cajun only weighs out at 950 hull weight plus the one fifty merc plus tackle etc. but I have a 31 series interstate sealed battery and can use it for two 10-12 hr days before it goes. a lot depends on the battery, I used to use voyagers and they would only last about one day. A lot depends on the weight, displacement, type of battery etc. lots to consider when making a purchase.
Yeah the batteries are from costco and they were in the boat when I bought It. I honestly have no Idea how much my boat weighs but its not aluminum. It seems like it pulls fine depending on the wind. I was thinking about running both the batteries that I have for 12v to the trolling motor and picking up another one for cranking the motor.
yeah I always carry a spare, at least something that will get me through a partial day anyway, you just never know.
Yea It feels like it has the same amount of power all day even when I go to load up. I was just wondering if its normal for it always to be at 50% or so. I have never had the battery completly die on me.
i bought mine from costco and as long a you charge the batteries before and after your fishing trip you should be o/k.very important is charge them as soon a you get home never leave a battery halfway charge this will ruin them.
Yea im pretty anal about charging them as soon as I get home. Thanks for the info.

dont run them both at same time unless ur trolling motor is 24 volt. not sure if thats what you meant by that statement or not. if it is 24 then you can hook em both together
Yea I heard of some way to run two 12v batteries together and still having 12v. It just drains both batteries equally. I dont know if I should just pick up another battery as a spare and just hook the spare up when needed.
You can run 2 batteries together or more, as long as you run them in PARALLEL, meaning red to red and black to black, you will keep a 12 volt draw and will increase the stand by power or holding power. if you Series them together meaning boat negative wire to black battery (1) then red to black battery (2) then red to motor you will have a 24 volt connection system.
+1 yeah what he said. better explanation.i was only meaning dont do the 24v connection if your trolling motor is 12 v.
Yea thats what I was told I dont neccesaryly see the advantages over running both at one time opposed to having a stand by that I can hook up when needed.
