At first I thought it was excellant to have a dog that likes to fish. Any time, any day, rain or shine, hot as hell, he is ready to go. Now I am having second thoughts about taking him anywhere, anymore. I think I will start leaving him home in his kennel. Most any day I am at Saguaro, people will come up and the first thing they say is "Hello Baxter". Do we get a "Hey Spidey and Toad(Chuckle) nice to see you? Nooooo!!! Do people ask Toad(Chuckle) and I to pose for pictures?? Noooooooo!! Do people offer us treats? Nooooooooo!! In fact, one day a fellow comes up and said, "Is that Baxter?" I responded "Yes". Then he said, "You must be Jim then". Spare me. . The dog doesn't even care if we catch fish or not. Then this Monday, Toad(Chuckle) and I were enjoying one good fishing day out of a hundred, and Mrs. Bayou asks if they can borrow Baxter to help locate the fish. Next time I go, I am taking Herm, our cat. At the very least, he may get excited about fish in the boat. Baxter could care less. He's more of a thong dog. At the ramp, the women love Baxter and ignore me. What about me? I need love too.

Baxter

A lot of good points made by all of you. I think I will give the Beagle costume a try on Saturday. As for Baxter learning to scan the thongs, I guess that is my fault too. I didn't think he would learn by watching me. I also thought that his tongue hanging out and him panting was a dog/natural thing. I guess he is watching me too closely. And for Karen, Baxter is not booked for Monday yet. Just bring over the 25 gallons of gas and you can pick up the dog.
